This week I started walking 1 mile, then increased it to 1¼ miles. I am walking ½ lap before stopping to catch my breath and still taking a break on a bench to recover after 1 whole lap. So, I am seeing improvement here.
My weight is down 4 lbs, finally! My blood glucose ranged from 125-136. That’s a little lower. Still a concern for me.
Eating has been going pretty good except for one day. My step-son was in town and wanted to have breakfast, so the family all got together to have breakfast at Village Inn.
Eating out is still a problem. I didn’t walk that day, but that was my rest day anyway. The problem is we ate breakfast at 9 am. I’m not suppose to eat until noon, so I really ended my fast early.
My options (which I didn’t think about in advance) was to:
- Start my fast early the day before, which means I would have started it at 5pm and probably had just 1 meal that day.
- Only drink coffee while everyone else ate. That comes down to “how bad do you want it”. Yeah, I’m not quite there yet.
- Break my fast early, but start it earlier that night and have a longer fasting period the next day to get back on track.
I decided to split the difference and start my fast early that day, not at 5pm, but got back on track the next day.
So, I am adapting to this program, but I do miss the creamer in my morning coffee and sometimes I am just starving by the time noon comes.
